A number of years ago I came into possession of several portfolios whilst clearing through the estate of a dear friend. One was filled with what seemed at first to be Blank pieces of paper but on closer inspection it became clear that they were in fact drawings that had been painted over as if to erase or hide the original image.

A growing sense of curiosity took hold of me and I began trying to illuminate the drawings in order to see if I could reveal the original marks beneath the surface of the paint. I became convinced that my friend had left a message for me hidden inside the material of the paint.

A series of recordings using specially designed software & a flat bed scanner to translate paintings into sound with improvised guitar and generated text for voice.
